OFFICE OF HEALTH PROMOTION AND QUALITY OF LIFE (GPS-QV)As part of the wider movement of Health Promoting Universities and Colleges (UEPS), of which Portugal is a member of the European Network for Health Promoting Universities or EuroHPU, the creation of this office is focused on promoting health and quality of life, in terms of the acquisition of behaviors and attitudes that lead to healthy lifestyles in the academic population.
GPS-QV encompasses different psychology consultations and a nutrition consultation, all online, offering several routes to improve the general health of the academic community (e.g. students, professors, staff, researchers) of the three university campus (i.e. University of Minho, University of Porto and University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro) that are part of this project:
GPS-QV is an initiative of the U.Norte Consortium, which uses an integrated approach to providing care. Thus, the professional in the consultation where the support is requested will be the reference professional who defines an inclusive treatment plan after a personalized assessment of your needs. This integrated approach is based on person-centred care, which is characterized as a coordinated and individualized approach that recognizes and attributes to the person centrality in the helping process.
GPS-QV is coordinated by Prof. M. Graça Pereira, from the School of Psychology, University of Minho. The links to access the GPS-QV online consultations will soon be available at APsi-UMinho (UMinho), SASUTAD (UTAD) and SASUP (U.Porto). |
