Technologies in Education: Balancing Innovation and Mental Health 🌟
On 25-06-2024, the IADem Plan team developed the activity "Technologies in our daily lives" for 1st grade students at Colégio Teresiano de Braga. With the rapid evolution of technology, it has become vital to find a balance, especially for children, between the use of technology and outdoor activities. Healthy lifestyle practices are fundamental to mental health, and parents and grandparents play a crucial role in this process. Grandparents, in addition to moderating the use of technology, also benefit by preventing dementia through healthy practices. Balancing technology with outdoor activities strengthens family relationships and promotes everyone's well-being.
The IADem Plan is a joint initiative of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ponte da Barca, the Ponte da Barca Community Care Unit, the Alto Minho Local Health Unit and the Psychology Research Center of the University of Minho, specifically the Health & Family Research Group (GISEF).

Researcher and Collaborators of GISEF distinguished with the 1st place at the VI Pan-Amazonian Oncology Congress, Amazonas, Brazil. Rosana Moysés presented the study entitled “Cervical Cancer Mortality of Indigenous Women in Brazil in the Period from 2015 to 2019” and was distinguished with the award for 1st Place in Best Research. This work has as co-authors: Gabriela Sousa, Juliana Viana, Raylson Nobrega and M. Graça Pereira. This study is extremely relevant since Brazil has around 900,000 indigenous people, with a large concentration in the Amazon Region, and the death of indigenous women is known to disrupt cultural and productive systems in communities, due to their important role in the social construct. Thus, when describing the sociodemographic profile of deaths of indigenous women from cervical cancer, it is possible to suggest strategies to raise awareness for screening, respecting cultural and social peculiarities to reduce the mortality of indigenous women. The same Collaborator was also distinguished with the 3rd Place award for Best Experience Reports, in the same congress, with the work: “Prevent is an act of love with you: Audiovisual Content Aiming to Increase Adherence to the Screening for Cervical Cancer in Manaus” by Flávia Melo, Mayara Tostes, Lydia Delmond, Luana Souza, Giselle Ribeiro and Rosana Moysés. |
